THURSDAY
The Urbana Park District’s performance of Once Upon a Mattress opens this week. Today’s performance is at noon at Foellinger Auditorium on the U of I campus July. Matinee tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for children.
Meanwhile, in Champaign the Neighborhood Concert Series continues .Tonight at 6:30 Mary Clark will be performing. She’s a Motown R&B artist. That’s in Garden Hills Park and its completely free!
FRIDAY
The Tilton Redneck Games kick off this Friday. At 5:30 you can participate in the Red Neck Queen Contest. Or later in the evening enjoy tug of war. All proceeds go to the Tilton Ambulance Service.
And the Champaign County Fair continues this weekend. If you stop by between 11 and 1, admission is free! A demolition derby starts later in the evening.
SATURDAY
This Saturday at the Carmike theatre in Champaign, catch Strawberry Shortcake: The Glimmerberry Ball Movie. Tickets are$3 for children and $5 for adults. That starts at 10.
As the Champaign County Fair winds down, the Georgetown Fair begins. On Saturday catch the Barnyard Tractor Pull & Truck Pull starting at 6:00. Of course, carnival rides and fair food will be there all week.
SUNDAY
And if you or your kids love semis, the TopGun LargeCar ShootOut is centered around the working class truck. The event is all weekend at the Rantoul National Aviation Center. Admission is free!
And this week in the Hessel Park Concert series check out the Boneyard Jazz Quintet. That concert starts at 6:30 on Sunday.
