Tim Burton is set to direct a sequel to his classic comedy “Beetlejuice,” according to a report.

Burton, who directed the hit movie, is reportedly in talks with bosses at Warner Bros. to create “Beetlejuice 2,” with Michael Keaton expected to return in the title role as the devious ghost from the underworld, according to The Wrap.

The long-awaited sequel is due to be produced by The Geffen Company, who also worked on the 1988 original, alongside Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.

“Edward Scissorhands” director Burton hinted earlier this year that he would be tempted to work on a second “Beetlejuice” film with Keaton, adding, “Those were fun characters, but I’d have to see what the script was like and if it was worth doing – I can’t just make it because it’s one of the worst ten movies of the year.”
