Movin’ to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches…
Movin’ to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches…

I am SO happy that I’ll be back at the Market after a couple weeks away…so many things will have changed and blossomed (and exploded!) in that short amount of time! There was great information in this week’s Market Mail, which is free and sent out every Thursday (to subscribe to Market Mail, click HERE). Where do I start?

PEACHES! According to Market Mail’s well-informed source, “we might see some peaches this weekend”. Trust me, they’ll be the freshest peaches you’ve ever tasted outside of climbing a tree and eating one before coming back down. Other yummy options? Strawberries, sugar snap peas, bok choi, homemade “Twinkies,” maple-bacon donuts, hydroponic tomatoes (so beautiful), fresh and locally raised meat, goat cheese, eggs, kale, herbs, arts and crafts, and a lot more.

And this Saturday is ART AT THE MARKET (click HERE for more info)!! This workshop features Makerspace Urbana – from 8-12 they’ll teach you how to turn a t-shirt into a tote bag! Also, enjoy live music from Los Guapos from 9:30 – 11:30, in addition to the other entertainment always plentiful at the Market each week. Whatever you do, DON’T MISS OUT ON THE FOOD TRUCKS!! Eat breakfast at the Market – make a whole morning out of it. Just get there early – it’s going to be hot AND some stuff sells out pretty quickly.

Don’t miss the Lunchtime Leadoff at 12:20 today, where I’ll be giving away a $20 gift certificate for MK Designs from Loda! Use it for handcrafted jewelry, doll clothes (they fit AG), garden balls, aprons, kitchen, items, etc.

See you at the Market tomorrow (7-noon) on the corner of Illinois and Vine in Urbana!
