Weigh-in Day!

I’m excited an nervous about today’s weigh-in… Excited because I definitely feel that my clothes are fitting better, but nervous because… well… it’s a friggin’ weigh-in!!! Melissa Smith, RD at the Mettler Center, gave me a goal of losing 3 lbs. this week. I’ll let you know how it goes…

I decided last night that once I fall under the 200# barrier, I’m going to treat myself to a new pair of jeans and maybe a new pair of shoes. That’s motivation to stick to eating healthy and exercising. Although, I was bad this weekend because I was supposed to get in a 3 mile run and I didn’t. :-(

I’m going to try to be good this morning… I am about to head out with Kevin, Mike Cation and Jonathan Drake for one final morning show breakfast. In case you missed it, Mike’s last day is on Wednesday. He has accepted a position with the Crisis Nursery. Our loss is definitely their gain. I can’t quite put into words yet how much I will miss him. Saving my tears and emotions until Wednesday… REGARDLESS, we are headed to Sammy’s for breakfast and I WANT to order pancakes, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage… maybe all in a skillet form, but I KNOW I shouldn’t and I won’t. Maybe I’ll go for a veggie egg white omlette? Or maybe I’ll have it with the yolks, who knows?

Eating out is really difficult when you’re trying to eat healthy. Melissa gave me a homework assignment this week: give her a list of the restaurants I go to most often and she will help me to pick out healthy options at those places. She has also given me a lot of helpful pointers! Two stick out immediately: Eat more of your daily calories in the morning and then taper off throughout the day. And eating more protein will help you feel fuller, longer.
